INFLOR-sponsored athletes are preparing for another competition: the 1st leg of the Brazilian Duathlon Championships, which will be held on March 31 in São Luis (MA). Matheus Ribeiro and Gustavo Cabideli will travel on March 30, accompanied by coach Jorge Augusto Curto de Oliveira, hoping to win good positions.

Matheus has just won the first leg of the Capixaba Triathlon Championships, held on March 10 in Guarapari, and showed that he is in good shape. In addition to having won in his category (18/19 years), he was 25th in the overall competition among 120 participating athletes. Gustavo Cabidelli takes part in the 16/17 years category.

The coach emphasizes that the athletes are excited about training for the 5 km race, 20 km bike and 2.5 km race of the Brazilian Duathlon leg. Participation in high-level competitions is important to meet a qualifying standard, which allow the competitors to take part in the World Championiships.

Last year they took part in the World Championships held in Denmark. In 2019 the event will be held in Pontevedra, Spain, and the capixaba athletes, who got started in the sport through a social project in Santa Cruz (Aracruz / ES), where they live, dream of their qualification already.

Before that, however, they take part in other local competitions. The next one here will be the 2nd leg of the Capixaba Triathlon Championships in Vitoria on May 5th. Coach Jorge Augusto Curto Oliveira is confident in the performance of the athletes because of their commitment.

Good luck to May Matheus and Gustavo in their next competition in Maranhão!
