The Focus Project – Unified Forestry Processes System – was implemented designed to foster improvements in the results of Suzano's harvest operations. Today, all of the production information are sent in real time directly to the Forestry Management System (SGF) installed by INFLOR in 2008.
The solution's flow is as follows: in the field, the employee completes the task requested and enters the information regarding the activity directly into the data collector, whose software also was developed by INFLOR. Another Suzano partner, BySat, captures the data and returns it by satellite to the company's Data Center. Once available there, the data is sent via SGF services to the central database in me Suzano Data Center and thereafter made available for production monitoring purposes.

Using a solution developed by INFLOR, it is possible to monitor production in each forest stand in real-time, knowing exactly when each one was worked on a given day and, for example, if any unused equipment is available. The information is inserted into the data collector for viewing in real time.
The Focus Project also included the automation of equipment maintenance and quality validation. All of these automations are saving time, generating lower costs and higher reliability regarding the information.
Through the information generated from the automation work, it was possible to develop panels that indicate at any moment such information as: productivity index, yield indicators, productivity ranking and the map with the position of each piece of equipment containing its situation at that instant.
Daily production chart
"As of the installation of the system at Suzano, what we noticed immediately was a change in culture. Through the mechanized harvest, the decisions are taken in a more corporate manner because more management professionals have access to the information. On average, computerizing the process reduced by about 50 hours the monthly task of finalizing the data.
Generally speaking, we will have many benefits through the solution that was implemented: more appropriate allocation of costs, a better level of equipment maintenance and better communication between the HR department and our employees in the field ". Carlos Alberto Floriano, manager of operating development and excellence - Suzano Forestry Business Unit.
